The Automatic Power Plant Startup and Shutdown System (APS) is the information control center for the automatic startup and shutdown of power plant units. It issues startup or shutdown commands to various equipment and systems according to a predefined program. The APS coordinates with the Coordinated Control System (CCS), the Modulating Control System (MCS), the Furnace Safety Supervisory System (FSSS), the Digital Electro-Hydraulic (DEH) Control System, the Sequence Control System (SCS), the Feed water Control System, the Burner Load Program Control System, and other control systems such as the Electrical Control System (ECS) and the Automatic Voltage Regulator System (AVR). As a result, the automatic startup or shutdown of the power plant unit is achieved.
