Overview

The expansion project of Shaanxi Guohua Jinjie Power Plant Phase III was designed to accommodate 2 units of 660,000 kW ultra-supercritical air-cooled coal-fired generating units. The project adopted the solution of 'Industrial Edge Computing Platform based on ICS' to establish a comprehensive intelligent power generation control platform of "DCS+ICS" for the entire plant. The construction scope includes: intelligent power generation control platform, intelligent control, intelligent operation, intelligent monitoring, and intelligent alarm systems.

Solutions

HollySys developed intelligent power generation control systems tailored for large-scale thermal power units and formulated a new architecture for intelligent DCS integrating edge computing platforms and intelligent controllers. This integration seamlessly merged basic control with intelligent control, achieving closed-loop control of production processes with enhanced energy efficiency and minimal human intervention. It introduced an intelligent power generation operation control management model characterized by self-learning, self-adaptation, self-optimization, self-recovery, and self-organization capabilities.

Results

Following project implementation, significant energy savings were realized through combustion optimization and cold-end optimization of the units. Notably, the units' peak regulation capability was substantially enhanced, with AGC swiftly adapting to grid dispatch requirements and earning commendation from the grid authorities. The implementation of intelligent monitoring and intelligent alarm systems alleviated the workload of on-duty personnel and reduced instances of downtime, further guaranted information and network security.
