    HollySys Wins Control System Contract for ChinaCoal Erdos Energy & Chemical 100 KTA Liquid Sunshine Project

On June 25, HollySys won the contract to provide the control system for the 100 KTA Liquid Sunshine Project of China Coal Erdos Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd., marking a significant step in the advancement of green energy technologies.

The project, located in the Tuke Industrial Park of Uxin Banner, Inner Mongolia, China, is a large-scale demonstration of renewable-to-liquid fuel technology. It integrates a 625 MW renewable power system (400 MW photovoltaic and 225 MW wind), a 21 KTA water electrolysis hydrogen production and storage facility, a 150 KTA CO₂ capture and purification plant, and a 100 KTA green methanol synthesis unit that combines captured CO₂ with green hydrogen. The project also includes comprehensive auxiliary systems.

At its core is the newly developed “100 KTA Liquid Sunshine Green Methanol Technology,” representing one of the world's first end-to-end industrial demonstrations of green methanol production. Compared with conventional coal-based methanol production, the project is expected to reduce coal consumption by 140,000 tons and CO₂ emissions by approximately 500,000 tons annually — offering a promising model for carbon reduction and resource recycling in high-emission sectors.

HollySys will deploy a control system based on the Modular Automation and Virtualization (MAV) framework, managing over 46,000 I/Os and incorporating advanced intelligent solutions such as AMS (Asset Management System), APC (Advanced Process Control), and PID tuning. By delivering advanced technologies, high-performance products, and professional services, HollySys is committed to supporting the project’s success and helping establish it as a benchmark in green methanol and sustainable energy development.
