    HollySys Supports 168-Hour Trial of Shangrao Xintou's 2 × 1,000MW Ultra-Supercritical Units

Recently, supported by HollySys' proprietary HOLLiAS® MACS DCS solution, the two 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical units of Shangrao Xintou Power Generation Co., Ltd. completed a 168-hour full-load trial operation in a single run, officially entering commercial operation.

Located in China, the project is a major energy infrastructure initiative featuring advanced secondary reheat technology and integrated environmental protection systems. With a total investment of approximately USD 1.17 billion, the project incorporates low-carbon solutions including reclaimed water utilization, zero liquid discharge, and comprehensive ash resource utilization. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 10 billion kWh of electricity annually.

To address the challenges posed by complex multi-variable coupling and frequent load fluctuations, HollySys provided its HOLLiAS® MACS DCS solution with nearly 35,000 I/Os. The solution delivered integrated plant-wide control covering the boiler, turbine, generator, and BOP systems, integrating key control functions including Coordinated Control System (CCS), Modulating Control System (MCS), Furnace Safeguard Supervisory System (FSSS), Digital Electro-Hydraulic Control System (DEH), Micro Electro-Hydraulic Control System (MEH), and turbine bypass control on a unified platform. The project also adopts integrated fieldbus control technology, achieving 40% fieldbus device coverage to enhance equipment connectivity and operational visibility, supporting more efficient plant management.

With millisecond-level response capability and high-speed control performance, the system ensures stable and precise operation under dynamic conditions. During load ramping, the units achieve smooth transitions without disturbance while maintaining accurate control of critical parameters such as main steam temperature and pressure. These capabilities enable the plant to support long-term deep peak regulation with an 80% load variation range, while maintaining 100% CCS automatic control availability and furnace safety protection availability.
