HollySys Participates in Kazakhstan Power Forum, Supporting Thermal Power Modernization in Central Asia

Recently, HollySys was invited to participate in the Power Industry Forum hosted by the Kazakhstan National Investment Corporation in Astana. The forum served as a high-level platform for strategic dialogue on the long-term development of the regional power sector, bringing together senior representatives from government authorities, major energy enterprises, financial institutions, engineering organizations, academia, and leading technology providers. Under the theme "Modernization and Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan's Energy System", discussions focused on key priorities shaping the sector's future, including energy strategies toward 2035, power project financing mechanisms, asset and operational management, as well as safety and environmental standards. The forum also provided a platform for exchanging views on industry challenges and exploring proven approaches to support large-scale power system modernization.

The power industry in Kazakhstan and the wider Central Asian region is undergoing a major transformation while facing several challenges. Coal-fired generation remains dominant, accounting for over 70% of electricity output, with many aging units operating at low efficiency and under increasing environmental pressure. In addition, limited grid capacity constrains large-scale integration of renewable energy, highlighting the need for upgrades in transmission infrastructure, energy storage, and flexible dispatch. Against this backdrop, the modernization of aging power plants through advanced retrofitting and intelligent transformation has become one of the most urgent priorities for the local energy sector.

Building on these industry needs, HollySys engaged in extensive discussions with local stakeholders through booth demonstrations and face-to-face exchanges. During the forum, HollySys showcased its integrated automation solutions covering the full lifecycle of power plant operations, including the HOLLiAS® MACS-K Distributed Control System (DCS) and Turbine Digital Electro-Hydraulic Control System (DEH), both of which have been widely applied in large-scale thermal power units to enable reliable upgrades of legacy control systems while ensuring safe operation and high system stability. HollySys also introduced its Intelligent Optimization Control System (HiOC), which leverages advanced algorithms to optimize combustion processes, reduce coal consumption, improve efficiency, and lower emissions, delivering both economic and environmental benefits. Many participants recognized HollySys' advanced technologies, comprehensive solutions, reliable delivery capabilities, and more than 30 years of experience in industrial automation, and expressed strong interest in exploring future cooperation opportunities in power plant modernization.

Moving forward, HollySys will continue to strengthen its presence in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian market by working closely with local partners and customers, while offering reliable, cost-effective technologies and a resilient supply chain to deliver a safer, smarter alternative to conventional systems.
